I got lostin the world. I thought sex was love. To have never experienced love that isall I knew. The way the guys looked at me, licking their lips imagining beingwith me. The way they argued amongst each other over who was going to approachme. The way they talked to each other about my hips, my thighs, and my breastlike I was nothing. And that’s exactly what I thought I was…nothing.

Sexualpurity. Yeah I knew that but living in a society in which they glamourize sexmade it seem as if being pure was a joke. I gave myself away. All of it.Because I thought he loved me. He told me he loved me and I thought it wastrue. Maybe I thought the way I did because my daddy never loved me. Since Ilacked in that area I thought that being loved by another man could take theplace of the love I never experienced from my father.

I hatedmyself and I hated God too. I was miserable because people only liked mebecause of the way I looked. I asked God why. Why does no one love me? Why wasI given this life? When I engaged in the world I was giving myself away to thisman and that man. The way they catered to me as if I was someone was thrillingfor me and the only thing I was really missing was God. God, the Father that Ihated so much. The One that I ignored. The One that I thought didn’t love mebecause He left me alone and to hurt. Never did I know that He was right besideme through it all even when I was giving myself away. I had to realize thatbeing so encompassed in the world was a sin itself. Not that I cared much; Ithought I didn’t belong in heaven anyway. But in the midst of my earthly sins,God spoke to me. I kept hearing loose.Being that I wasn’t into church like that I didn’t know exactly what it meantbut I kept hearing it every time I decided to engulf myself into the world.LOOSE. I didn’t realize that God was getting ready to loose me from my sins.Now see it doesn’t matter if you have given yourself away because God forgives.You may have been with numerous people but that does not mean you cannot be purefrom this moment on. Jesus said, “Thoughyour sins are like scarlet, Theyshall be as white as snow; Thoughthey are red like crimson, Theyshall be as wool (Isaiah 1:18).” Sexual purity gives you the chance to improveyourself but before you do that you must let your flesh die. Giving into thethings of this world and trying to live a pure life cannot coexist. No one saidit would be easy but trust in the LORD and He will bring you through.

I am so excited to share with you our Guest for today. I thought it would be good for us to hear from a male regarding the topic of Sexual Purity since you normally always hear from a female's perspective.

What would you say to a young lady who may be in a relationship and she is facing the challenge of wanting to save herself until marriage but her boyfriend is wanting to have sex?

This is a very tough question, because it's a reality for many young women. There are two things that come to mind when I think of these kind of relationships. The first is “respect.” If the guy really does respect you, then he would desire to honor your wishes that you want to save yourself until you're married. The Bible says, “Love is kind” and if he isn't kind enough to keep your wishes, you need to ask yourself, “Is he's walking in love?” The second thing is being equally “yoked”. This is the absolute most important thing you should find out before dating someone, “Does the other person have my kind of standards in purity. If the other doesn't, will I be in a compromising relationship?” I can't say “Break up with him” or “Stay with him”, all I can say is think about what I've said in this paragraph and make a decision after that.

How important do you feel it is to have a mentor or someone to talk to when things become difficult?

Having a godly person in your life to council you in good and bad times is extremely important! My parents have always been my mentors. Honestly, I'm not sure how strong I would have been if it wasn't for their advice. Throughout my process from being single to courtship to engagement, I've always asked for their advice. It doesn’t stop there. I will constantly ask for counsel about life even after the wedding. If you don't have Godly parents to advise you, talk with local Godly people in your church, pastors or elders.

How do you handle the pressure or if you have ever had to deal with the pressure from friends of saving yourself for marriage?

Good question. Sexual pressure was always there in high school. Even after high school it was there. For years I wanted to save sex for marriage. I remember when I entered high school I started to really realize how that was a minority belief. Everyone, it seemed, was having sex in high school. I can recall one time when a guy was telling me about how he had sex. Then he asked me “Are you still a virgin?” I was like “...yeah”. It really threw him off when I said I was! He was bragging about all the crazy parties, the girls, the sex, and everything else but once I told him I still “rocked my V Card” it puzzled him. He began to think, and said to me, “Wow, that's really awesome.” Stand for what you believe in sexual purity, even when it’s not popular.

Do you think today’s generation is losing their beliefs on maintaining their purity until marriage?

I fear for this generation. I don't say that because every Christian says that to motivate people to change, I seriously fear for them. Sexual immorality of today is above and beyond where it should be! I hear of 12 year old having sex, and it just breaks my heart! The reason why sexual immorality is so out of control is mainly because the lack of one word, family. The family structure is being COMPLETELY destroyed and polluted by lust of every kind. The lack of fathers in the lives of young people has a big part to do with it. Now that the fathers are gone, the mothers have to get out of their role, from developing the children, to being the “man” and “woman” of the house. The kids grow up not knowing what a true functional family looks like so they try to find it through other teens in their schools who are in the same family depraved situation. Plus the media really isn't helping out at all. Movies, music, magazines, TV shows, etc. are polluted with sex! Then all the teens are talking about sex and telling stories of their experiences. So the generation isn't being raised by the family, but its being raised and matured through sex. What this world truly needs is people taking a stand and waiting to have sex when their married. And if you're reading this, and you feel like you're the only person in your school or work place who is taking a stand for purity, always remember the power of one. Maybe your testimony will effect everyone around you. We live in a dark world. If you don't let your light shine, who will?

What would you say to those who want to maintain or begin from this point forward with the decision to stay sexually pure until marriage, but those around them are not being very accepting of their decision?

To those people, I would say stay strong! Remember that your strength doesn't come from within, but comes from Christ because “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me”. As much trials and persecution come from you taking this stand, remember, it will only make you stronger. I took a stand for what I believed in high school and I got made fun of sometimes. I learned it doesn't matter what people say (as hard as that may seem), but it only matters what God says. Do you fear what people say over what God says? So just stand strong and know who you are in Christ.

Sexual purity has never been a popular thing in history. From Genesis to Revelations even to modern day, man has struggled with every kind of sexual immorality. Romans 12:2 says “Don't conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind”. We can't conform to the sexual immorality that's all around us. We must stay holy (set apart) for God in these tough times, even when it's unpopular.

“Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. “ 1 Corinthians 6:18

Is It Worth It?

Relationship…Something that every woman wants but doesn’t feel as if she deserves. The bad guys, sophisticated guys, the sweet ones so many to choose from but many migrate towards the bad ones. Why? To feel a sense of security. Writing this post made me go deep down into an area in which I had rather kept hidden but everything you do in life is a testimony. Something that I was so ashamed of could essentially impact someone’s life.

A good healthy relationship is hard to come by but the most important key is to put God first; something I didn’t realize in the beginning. Without putting your Savior first, puts you into a position of failure. How can you be successful in a relationship if you do not stand up for what you believe in? I realized I didn’t have a voice. I wasn’t ALLOWED to have one. As many women do, I too chose to be with the bad guy. The one that though the was so tough and mighty. But the question I asked myself is “Is it worth it”? The heartache. The pain. The tears. The lies. The unwanted feelings. No one deserves to be treated badly and for us as women we can get so tangled up into a fantasy that we forget our true worth. But me…I was afraid of being alone. At times I found myself lost in a deep hole. Trying to find my way out.The darkness scared me but yet that’s where I thought I belonged.

In that hole is when I found the true meaning of love. I never truly knew how it felt to be loved by someone else other than my family members. The love that you actually can feel it in your heart. The genuine love that makes your heart race and stomach flutter. But in that hole is where I began to develop my relationship with God. There I realized that God is love.So sweet, so kind, so gentle. There in that hole I learned to trust in God because I was afraid to leave a relationship in which I knew I didn’t belong.

Although I was not physically abused, there was emotional and mental distress. In my deepest darkest hours, is where I talked to God and He comforted me. As 1 Corinthians 13:4 states,“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud”. And I had neither of those. By standing up to what I believe in made me realize that God has so much more for me. A love so sincere that I knew it would be Him that blessed me with it.Today I acknowledge my past that I was so determined to run from because if it wasn’t for those heartaches I would not know the true meaning of love. To be able to love someone so freely and to know you are loved back is truly a blessing. I thank God daily for me being cheated on, lied to, laughed at, and used. Because if it wasn’t for my lows I could not truthfully be thankful for my highs. The good thing about God is He can turn your bad times into good. I learned that even in your darkest hour God has already fixed it all you have to do is acknowledge Him and He will answer. So, make sure you know your worth and embrace it because your price is far above rubies (Prov. 31:10). And like I always say, “Always put God first no matter what and He will take you far.

Bio:

I'm LaTanya Scott, a married woman of God, with 3 beautiful children! I have an 18 year old son, and 14 and 5 year old daughters.

I am an Ordained Minister, as well as a Christian Counselor whose focus is geared more towards the marriage/family, as I have been through some things in my own relationships and feel that what I've learned, needs to be shared with others who may be going through what I went through! However, I have compassion and a word for anyone going through anything as I follow hard after the Spirit, and try to be obedient to the voice of God! I believe that He sends all those my way that He needs me to be a blessing to or to be blessed by. I also own a wholesale/retail business which I currently run from my home. However, the Lord has recently called me into full time ministry, so my focus is slowly moving away from this business in this season of my life.

The Lord has been opening up so many doors to me and closing many behind me! THANK YOU JESUS! I am just so open and have such a strong desire to fulfill the Lord's call on my life! I am so deeply in love with Jesus and I aspire to please Him in every single area of my life! No, that does NOT mean I am perfect, nor do I claim to be. But what that does mean is that I strive daily to grow closer and closer to Him...to become more and more like Him with each step that I take on this journey called 'life'. I want to be used by Him. I want to be blessed so that I might be a blessing to all who cross my path!

Women Arise!-Ministries:

It is from personal experience that I've learned that we as women tend to NOT trust one another! We often times have a habit of tearing one another down instead of building each other up! So the Holy Spirit placed it upon my heart back in late 2008, to begin a ministry for women. I heard Him clearly to speak to me:
"WOMEN ARISE! WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLUMBER! IT'S TIME TO TAKE YOUR POSITIONS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE BATTLE LINES!"

Women Arise!-Ministries is a place where God can use to set the "captives" free! All of those bowed over will be raised up! All of those who are bound up will be RELEASED! Those in need of healing will be healed, those with dead marriages, dead finances, those who are at dead ends, will be resurrected and restored to life! Those who are broken down and defeated, will arise to new levels and realize they are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus! Those who need a word, who need deliverance, companionship, compassion, understanding, knowledge, wisdom, discernment, whatever-WILL RECEIVE IT (I believe it) in the name of Jesus!

It is my sincerest prayer that through this ministry, God will reverse that 'trend,' and be a source of blessing to each and every member, and that we can all be open and honest with each other always. That if there is anyone in the ministry who doesn't know Christ, that they will come to know and love Him with all they are!

I believe that once we can arrive at a place where we can begin to trust one another and we grow in our walk with Christ, there will be NOTHING the enemy can do to us! There is power in numbers! It's time for us women to march right into Satan's camp and take back ALL he has stolen from us! It's time that we possess our rightful inheritances as children of God!

To Share A Bit More About Myself:

About a year ago, the Lord also led me to begin "FROM STRUGGLE 2 STRENGTH," which is an extension of "WOMEN ARISE!-MINISTRIES." It is a ministry for women as well as men. I basically have the same vision for "FS2S" as I do for "WAM." Right now, the Lord has me in a season of preparation. He is refilling and refreshing me; pouring so much new revelation into me, as He prepares to take me to my new level in HIM and in ministry. I am excited to share as He releases me to do so!

My Book:

I self published my first book titled, "FROM CATERPILLARS TO BUTTERFLIES: WOMEN ARISE!, in April of 2010. It is a devotional book for women, which also contains a couple of poems. Many years ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, that I was to write (at the least) 3 books: a devotional book, a poetry book, and eventually the story of my life. I felt led to do the devotional book first, especially since I had already began writing devotionals and sharing them on Facebook, my website and blog. Many have been blessed by them and had began inquiring about my writing a book. So, that was confirmation to me that it was time and so I began! I thought it was going to be a difficult process for me, but I have always had the gift of expressing myself well and have been told that I have a 'way with words.' But I give GOD all of the glory as I know that it is HIM working in and through me..... I am just the vessel who speaks and write as I feel Him lead me!

I am currently working on my second book, which will be a book of short daily inspirational messages and quotes. I don't want to give too much away just yet; but God willing it will be published some time in 2012, so be on the look out for it!

Final Thoughts:

I would just like to end this with a word of encouragement for whoever reads this: I know that there are many things that the Lord has put in your spirit for you to do. Many promises that He's spoken to you, that you have yet to see fulfilled. I know it seems to be taking forever and may even look impossible! Oh, you wonder if maybe you have missed the blessing or if it was really God Who spoke the promises to you in the first place! I know many of your loved ones are laughing at you and telling you to give up and let it go! But let me remind you that God is not a man that He should lie! Whatever it is that God has promised you, He will bring to fruition! Maybe not in YOUR timing, but all things will manifest in HIS perfect timing! Don't get discouraged, my friend! Don't you dare give up hope! Do not pay attention to what you see in the 'natural,' as the natural is temporary and constantly changing; but focus instead on GOD Who is Spirit and Eternal- and always stays the same! God bless you!

Santa - Our Imaginary Friend

One of the tough topics that all Christians have to face when we accept Christ is to embrace truth and reject lies. Many of those lies are society’s lies. They are the lies that brought us such much joy as children. With the season approaching, yes, I am talking about “Santa – Our Imaginary Friend”

As a child, I don’t remember believing in Santa, I just pretended to fit in. We were extremely poor so as other children bragged about their elaborate gifts and I didn’t have any to brag about, I told my own lie of getting gifts that I only wished that I had received. It was quite a reality check for a young child. The 2010 Census revealed that the rate of families living in poverty spiked showing that 1 in 5 children in America now live below the poverty line. That was 18 months ago, so I am sure it has increased. Even middle class families put off paying their utility bills to feed into the pressure. Imagine how many children have to face the facts when they wake up to an empty Christmas tree and then face other children who were showered in gifts. It's hard to keep up with societies lie when not all of society can afford it.

Later, as a single mom of three, I bought in to all of the hype. It was an opportunity to overcompensate for my childhood. I love creating traditions. I believed in God but found myself mixing Jesus with Santa. I was such a free-spirited mother that I didn’t even realize that I was mixing the truth with a lie. But I was one of those christians. You know, the ones that believed in Christ, but didn’t really follow Him. I admired Jesus without surrendering to Jesus. Now that I look back on it, I realize that not only did I tell many elaborate lies to my children, I went through extreme measures to convince them of them.

Here is just a small list:

Santa – We visited a man dressed as Santa, had pictures taken with him, left out cookies and milk for him, left out reindeer food, left stocking for Santa to feel them with candy and even had my brother-in-law call when my children were misbehaving to tell them that he knows that they are being “naughty.”

Easter Bunny - We visited a man dressed as The Easter Bunny, had pictures taken with The Easter Bunny, colored eggs so he could hide them and ate hollowed chocolate bunnies in honor of him.

The Tooth Fairy – I would put their tooth under their pillows, wait until they were asleep, replace it with money and then sprinkle glitter from their bed to the window and when they showed me, I acted like I couldn’t see it. I even had my daughter in on the lying as she whispered to my son “Only kids can see the glitter.”

The Boogey Man – While other parents convinced their kids that there was no boogey man, I used it to my advantage. When my daughter was a toddler, she would always try to play in the toilet. When I saw her go in the bathroom and I wanted her out, I would tell her that she better come out or “The Boogey Man” would get her. Terrible, I know.

Where do babies come from? – When my oldest daughter sprung this on me, I was 21 and unprepared so I quickly replied, “From swallowing watermelon seeds.” A year later, she runs in the house telling that she is pregnant because she swallowed a watermelon seed. Learning the lesson from my first incident, when it came up with my second daughter, I still was unprepared and told her that I plant a seed in a garden and the father waters it. My kids still laugh over my elaborate lies.

I remember when my kids were attending an in-home daycare and the provider was of Pentecostal faith. She wore long skirts, long hair, no make-up and no jewelry. One day, on the way home from picking up my kids, my daughter told me that she had told them that I lied to them about Santa. That it was a way to take the focus off of Jesus’s birthday. I was irate. I contacted her and told her to mind her business and it was my job.

Of course now as a christian woman who every day tries to imitate Christ, I understand that you can’t imitate Christ by embracing lies. I think back on how much I lied yet at the same time, I expected nothing but truth from my children. Would I handle a situation like my daycare provider? No. As the teaching of Jesus will tell you, our job in ministry is to put information out and it is up to the recipient to receive it or reject it. I would never force Christ on anyone. That's the beauty of free will.

Before I faced the truth, of course I looked for every excuse to embrace Santa. He was like family. I felt like I was about to kill an important character in my favorite story. It was heartbreaking. He was one of the reasons that my children had such creativity and wild imaginations. I compared him to fairytales and quickly found that it wasn’t credible because the kids know that they are just stories. We go through extreme measures to make Santa “real.” A lie was a lie and Santa had to go so I had to kill him off.

I finally told my kids the truth by confessing to them that I had been lying. I told them about the story of the toymaker St. Nicholas and how he made toys for the children and left candy in their stocking as they hung by the fireplace to dry. I told them after he died, the tradition just went on. Then I told them the real reason for the season. That I just bought into the lie and the shallow definition of Christmas.

Even if Christmas not the real date of the birth of Christ as many christians often debate around this time, praise God, He was born. We still celebrate the season for significance of the day and give each other presents in the spirit of giving. We also try our best to help the less fortunate and homeless and in today’s economic climate, the need is even greater. We spend time as a family and take time to appreciate the gift of life, but we no longer embrace the lie.

We embrace the story of the baby born in a manger and the priceless gift that his birth represented. The gift of Grace.

“Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.” Ephesians 4:25

I am a wife to a wonderful husband who loves me with the love of Christ. I am also mother to two beautiful children who keep me on my toes! I love taking care of my family and I like to laugh a lot! I strive to put God first in everything I do. In my spare time I like spending it with my family, getting some me time, and fellowship with friends. Bargain shopping and coupon clipping is what I do to keep me in budget and finding the finest things for cheap. Can’t leave out cooking and baking! I get excited when looking for new recipes in my Taste of Home magazine and my other array of cookbooks and what joy I have when I find recipes with less than 6 ingredients!! To sum it up; I love God, I love my family, and love to laugh and enjoy the life God has given me, and I love people!

---Proverbs 31 Mama Ministries exists to encourage, equip and empower women to grow in God's Word, becoming the Proverbs 31 woman God has called them to be. This ministry was totally God’s doing. In the beginning I had nothing to do with being a Proverbs 31 “anything”. But oh’ God’s grace brought me to a place of realization that only by looking through the eyes of God that I could see my perfect place in the verses outlined in Proverbs 31. It has not been easy and it definitely is not easy teaching it to others that are in the same frame of mind I used to be in. But to see the scales fall off the eyes of many women and to see their faces and demeanor change as they begin to see themselves through God’s eyes as God uses us as a vessel to bring His word to life it brings tears to my eyes. I can say many things, but all I will say that God is truly good no matter what and I am thankful for how He has showed His amazing favor upon this ministry.

----VMOMS (Virtuous Moms of Multiple Streams) VMOMS is on a mission to help moms discover their gifts and talents and in doing so encourage them and show them how they can create multiple streams of income so that they can be about their Father’s business for a Kingdom purpose. Whew! What can I not say about VMOMS! I am going to try my best and keep it short. God has truly blessed me with an array of passions, gifts/talents. One of those passions is to see women discover their gifts and purpose and using what God has given them to create multiple streams of income that will assist in building and advancing God’s kingdom. I grew up in a place where people never see one dream or desire come to past because they are full of hurts, regrets, and fear. In life I was always one that got knocked down over and over and over again but I got up. God has placed a passion in me to want to see others discover their purpose and walk out all that God has placed on their path. There is a desire burning inside that craves to exhort women to get up and walk. VMOMS is there to do just that. We are in the revamp stage but we will be back up on this coming December 5 !! So get ready because we are going forth!

• What else could we look forward to from Sister DeLonda?

It is amazing the stuff God has placed on my heart and every time I tell God okay I cannot do anymore, it seems likes He makes a way and He gives me the grace to get it done. It also helps tremendously having an awesome hubby who cheers me on along the way and he is a great coach too! Within the next 3-6 months I will be releasing my book called “Forgetting My Past” and be looking out because although most of the ministry God has given has been done online God will be making me a little more mobile next year and I will once again be taking majority of the ministry offline to the pulpit, conferences, retreats, fellowships and wherever else God leads. Stay tuned…..

Regardless of what you have been through and how much sin you think you have done that is so out of reach that you think God cannot reach down and pull you out of. I AM is a Redeemer and His grace will rescue and restore you. God knows everything about you good, bad, and just down right ridiculous and He still wants you and He still has a plan for you. If only you knew what all God has in store for you! Whew!... child it is mighty glorious! But God wants you to walk this thing out in faith. If you knew the whole path you would not follow it. But that path holds destiny and promise. Just trust God. Period…..trust God.

I have many but the one that God has really been bringing life to me over and over again is:

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

You are Not Alone

I was watching a movie and I just began to cry. I was so emotional when the little boy in the movie was being picked on. I immediately felt horrible because he did not have anyone to stick up for him. He was new in town and had no relatives or friends. As a result of him being in an unfamiliar territory, he was feeling as though he was all alone. I could relate because I to, had moments where I thought I was isolated and had no one to communicate with or help solve my dilemmas. I noticed sometimes when we are going through trials we either want to go to someone for help or we want to handle it ourselves.

God quickly reminded me He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). I'm sure you have heard this before, but he really is there to take care of us and has our back regardless of what we are going through. He will be with us and guide us even when we think we are at the end of the road with no options. He can top any friend we could ever have. In reality, our friends will only go so far for us. It is exciting to know even when our friends and love ones turn their backs on us, we still have a Father who is watching over us? Glory to God! I don't know about you but it is exciting to me. You are NEVER alone.

When you enter into a crisis, let the first person you talk to be our Heavenly Father. He wants you to depend on Him. He is a jealous God and want to come FIRST in your life and that includes all decision- making.

All you have to do is accept Him into your life and allow Him to lead.

Praise the Lord Ladies! I’m excited to share a bit of my love for God with you on this beautiful ministry Sisters of Honor with Deaconess Aretha Turner. Thank you for the honor. It’s very humbling to share with you today…

A bit about me:

Let me say that God’s love is the story of my life and it shows in His mercy, grace and patience that He pours out on me daily. I have been married for over 21 years to my best friend, spiritual covering, ministry partner and the man whom I call my greatest cheerleader, Peter Shaw. He is my Border Buster for sure! I have two daughters ages 25 and 18 who are my hearts. I have two precious grand-girls ages 4 and 3 who are my joys and I have one special son-in-law. I’m also Mamma to two Maltese fur-boys named Goodness and Merci.

While I come with business background, my calling is to minister the Word of God to all who are wounded and need to know God loves them. A call I have taken seriously for a very long time. By God’s grace I am an ordained pastor (along with my husband), bible teacher, speaker and first time author.

When I had the pleasure to be with my Grandparents which was regularly, they not only took me to church they involved me. I grew up serving God in church, gave my life to Christ at age 12 but had many struggles due to childhood pain that affected my life including decisions I made in my teens and into my mid-twenties. After a history of being hindered by past pain, people pleasing, approval addiction, secret-sin and the grip of fear, I came to realize that I was enough in God’s eyes. I was valuable to Him through Christ. Yes, you can be saved, serving in Church and still be carnal and hurting tremendously. I remember the day when 1 John 3:1 became life to me. I came to know Him not just as my God but as my Abba Father; someone in whom I could feel safe and who loved me not for how I looked or how I performed but just because I was His! That’s freeing ladies!

The Ministry:

Lisa Shaw Ministries (www.lisashawcares.com) is a prayer, bible teaching, speaking and ministering ministry which helps people to see themselves through God’s eyes. God’s given me a very tender heart toward the wounded woman especially. Hence, I have just published my first book: You Are Beautiful In God’s Eyes. Let me tell you ladies that there is such incredible healing, grace and restoration when we truly lay down the lies of the enemy and our past or present circumstances and even our own negative thoughts and dare to believe what God says about us! I love the Word of God in its entirety but I will share one with you that is very important to my personal life and that is Psalm 27:13-14. Grandma, who is the one who taught me to love God, pray and to hunger for His word; taught me this Scripture when I was very young. She told me that I would need it. She was right. It’s walked with me for over 45 years.

Psalm 27:13-14 (KJV) I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

I have a few favorite quotes. One that helped me during my healing process from my childhood is “You can be bitter or better” by Joyce Meyer. That’s life changing when you grasp it fully.

What I’d like to leave you with ladies is never stop reaching for what God has purposed you to do. Don’t seek His hand. Seek His heart. Don’t look for His presents. Seek His presence. When you do He will take care of the rest and remember, you are bright, brilliant and beautiful in God’s Eyes. Yes you are! I love you and I’m praying for you with compassion. We are pleased to announce this Dynamic Woman of God as our October Sister in the Spotlight!!! She brings a wealth of knowledge and joy to those who know her. Tony is wife of 20 years to the love of her life, Reggie. She is also mom to their four beautiful and gifted children each walking out God’s purpose for their lives. She is a minister, devotional writer and God-Mom to some pretty amazing kids. She’s is founder of Well Watered Woman; a global ministry dedicated to encouraging, enriching and empowering women in their walks with the Lord. Being radically changed, healed and delivered by Gods amazing grace and love; she is passionate about seeing women walk in all that God has destined for them.

As a speaker, Tony is a woman of vision and purpose who delivers the word of God with passion, transparency, humor and authority. Through her walk of transparency and availability she connects with people and draws them to the Father. Her mission is to leave an indelible mark for Christ everywhere she teaches and speaks.

Well Watered Woman began as a blog about one woman's journey with God and the lessons she's learning along the way. Finding Balance:

Balance what exactly would that be? LOL Balance comes by realizing your priorities. (God, husband, children and everything else.) We have to always be mindful and diligent with our time and what we are investing it into. When we see an area getting out of balance, we have to make immediate changes. Otherwise, our lives become out of control.

Honor Begins at Home

The creators of the Fireproof Movie are bringing another faith-filled movie to the big screen. Courageous is about four men who works as law enforcement officers and they are dedicated to their jobs and do their best to succeed at work. When it comes to being a dad, they realize they are not as focused.

I am excited to see this movie. I think this is going to be a great eye opener for fathers all around. I'm sure we all will be able to take something from this.

Receiving a Blessing

I was a little hesitant about posting this blog today because I don't typically share a great deal of blessings I receive in a public forum because everyone cannot accept the things God does in your life. I never want to come across as boasting but I felt led to share this blessing with you.

Receiving a blessing is okay!

You see we have to get to a point where we share with others what God is doing in our lives without making it all about ourselves. We are to show how good God is and not how good we are.

Now to my surprise blessing.

Today I was blessed with a new printer! Yes, you read it right! I was very happy and a little speechless. I was turning around in circles trying to get my thoughts together. (Imagine that!)

Well. I'm good now. I am grateful for this gift and pray blessings upon the person who was not selfish and not only thinking of themselves and blessed someone else. Praise God for your obedience!

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and ^[a]earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need ^[b]be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. 2 Corinthians 9:8

I really needed another printer and this came right on time. Praise God! We just began our 6th year of homeschooling on yesterday and what a GREAT gift to receive on today. Not to mention printing things for my household and ministries.

See, this may be just a printer to some but, for me it is truly a blessing. This was something I needed and God made a way for someone to bless me.

I am in awe right now! I am so thankful to God for all of the blessings he has given and for those I have yet to see.

Thank you so much for this blessing. It is truly appreciated.

My friends, we have to STOP looking to other people or things to validate us! Whether it is our spouse, our children, our homes, our careers, etc.! We have to STOP looking to others to make us feel worthy and beautiful- or loved! It does NOT matter what anyone else thinks or says about us- ONLY what God says and thinks! STOP relying on people to make you happy! People are just that, 'people,' and they will let you down! Guaranteed! Whether it is intentional or not, it happens! And it usually happens because we are expecting them to be or say or do something that WE want! And when they won't or just can't, we feel let down and disappointed! We are hurt and angry and ready to call it quits!

Now I'm not saying that we are to put up with any and everything, accepting everything that a person does or says to us- NO WAY!!!!! But we can't expect anyone to take the place of God in our lives! We have to learn that no one is perfect and life isn't about US but God, and putting others first! No one can make us happy and truth be told, no one can MAKE us sad! We choose whether or not we allow someone or something to make us bitter or better!

STOP trying to please everybody! You cannot please all of the people all of the time! It is IMPOSSIBLE! You will drive yourself mad, trying to do so! You will have 50 people over 'here' agreeing and praising you, and another 50 over 'there' disagreeing and slandering you! So seek to please the Lord and then you will be guaranteed blessings and you will find favor with both Him and man!

STOP trying to explain yourself to everybody, all of the time! When you know you are trying to follow God and live accordingly, trust HIM to correct your course should you get off track! Don't allow anybody to criticize and condemn you based on their own personal views and extremely limited knowledge!

STOP trying to earn people's love and acceptance! If you have to 'be' and 'do' what someone else wants in order for them to love you, you are wasting your time! The flesh is never satisfied! No matter what you do, it won't ever be enough! That kind of 'love' is worldly and fleeting! It is conditional and so opposite of our Father's love! You want someone who will love you 'IN SPITE OF' and NOT 'BECAUSE OF!' Your Father doesn't make you work to get Him to love and accept you! No way! TRUE LOVE doesn't expect anything in return.. It is not self seeking! (1 Corinthians 13)

STOP worrying about what everyone else is doing- or not doing! You have enough troubles of your own! Get yourself in order first, and then maybe the Lord will use you more effectively in the lives of others!

Make sure you are where God has called YOU to be, and STOP comparing yourself to others! God made only ONE you! You are unique! You are beautiful! You are valuable! You are worthy! You are worth so much to God, that He sent His Son to die for you! (John 3:16) STOP allowing the enemy to make you believe you are anything less than who you are! THE APPLE OF YOUR FATHER'S EYE! You are a daughter of the King, so that makes you a PRINCESS! Live like it!

Trust In The Lord

God is so amazing and as we search his word and pray more we learn we can trust him. One of the things I love about God is I can confide in him. When I tell him something I can TRUST it is between he and I only. I know when God tells me to do something I may have never done I can push pass my fears and worries and have confidence that God will not send me to a place where he is not willing to cover, protect and provide for me.

Many of us have trust issues and I know exactly where you are coming from. But this scripture will help you understand what kind of God we serve. Ponder on it and do the impossible because God specializes in impossibilities and so do you because he lives inside of you!

Can You Tell What Time It Is?

Good Morning Sisters of Honor,

I greet you in the grace and love of our savior Jesus Christ. Have you ever been "TRAUMATIZED?" I think we all have been in some shape form or fashion. The question is how have we handled that trauma? For me I learned that I was a master at emotionally checking out. I was great at numbing myself with spiritual anesthesia to numb the pain of what I experienced. Although I did a pretty good job at throwing it in the hidden file cabinet of my mind under lock and key it was still there taking up precious space and showing up when my earth would shake with pain again.

When I would face another problem all of the other problems I had tucked away would pop-up like a jack in the box that I was not interested in playing with. It was agitating, aggravating, intimidating and emotionally OVERWHELMING! It seemed as if TIME STOOD STILL and although naturally it hadn't and couldn't in my world and mind it did! I was stuck all over again.

The lord had begin to minister to me about healing and that he would have to pull this stuff up so that I could confront it not alone but with him, Holy Spirit and Jesus all together. Even with all of that help I found myself still nauseated and stuck in time with the idea of having to face what I had down right hated. Nobody likes pain and the typical response to it is to separate yourself from it.

God was willing and ready with my permission to heal me from the pain that I had suffered at the hands of others. He begin to minister to me about forgiving them. Initially it was hard but it got easier as I saw weights lifting every-time I would at-least try to do it. I had to learn that I was forgiving for me, not them! I needed to forgive so that God in return can do the same for me. I started to go through my initially painful process and out of it, I am healed and free indeed! I want to share somethings that I incorporated in my life to help me through the process.

Remind Yourself Of What Time It Is

I would often zone out to another space and time where and when the trauma occurred. I had to find a physical clock or watch so that I could remind myself of where I am NOW. I had to remind myself I am in the now not the then. "Then" can no longer hurt me it's where it belongs back there! We sometimes get stuck in a time portal that no longer serves us. It's gone and you have today to live and tomorrow to look forward to keep moving forward.

Learn and Rest In God's Grace

God's grace is a sweet spot for me. It's a place that never leaves you. Find it, nurture it and turn up the frequency whenever you need more of it! God is always looking for reasons to wrap you in comfort, blanket you in love and swaddle you in his peace just like a baby. Think on those things, very often!

Practice the Art Of Not Becoming Offended

Intrusive thoughts will come! Handle thim accordingly with the medicine of healthy thinking. Notice I said handle them! It is VERY important that we drown them out with the water of the word and the washing of your mind through prayer. Keep your mind fed with healthy substance! Understand the thoughts come to remind you that you have suffered in some way, however take heart that Jesus himself is showing you through this process how to go through trauma without being traumatized. The thoughts don't win, you do, now act like it! ;-)

Keep Track Of Your Contribution To The Problems

Are you spending more time being problem-focused rather than walking in the healing of God focused? Careful, trauma is tricky and it would have you thinking about it constantly and often. Shut it DOWN by doing more of the thing God wants you to do. Don't think to have to be picture perfect to work in the Kingdom or do what you love. If you were perfect, you wouldn't need God. So rejoice in being imperfect. Learn to loosen up and laugh a little. Prepare to someday use your truamatice expereinces as a rescue mission for others. Yep, God works that way what the enemy was using to tare you up and down God will use to fortify you while your life is used as a tool of healing and restoration! Let me tell you, the process was worth it because being used to set others free is the most phenomenal feeling EVER! Makes you say glad I been through what Iv't been through to be used in this capacity! Keep your eyes on the Bigger Picture! You were born with purpose, for a purpose to be a purpose in someone else!

Good Morning Sisters of Honor,

Blessings be unto you! Have you ever gone back? Let me make it a little more specific, gone back to have a relationship with someone and you know the relationship was DONE? Gone back to fix an issue that is clearly in your past? Think about what you could have said should have said or done the other day? Wait, let me stop you right there. God has sent me to impart this wisdom through this revelation he gave me.

Our Father is a GOD of decency and order. He would NEVER have you in a state of confusion. It is his will that you are ALWAYS clear. So, with that in mind, when he OPENS a door for you, he closes every other door that was behind you. It's confusing and outside of his will for you to begin accessing these does that he has closed. If you take a peek at the Armor of God for us in Ephesians. Notice there is no ARMOR for your back only for the FRONT because you are ARMED for FORWARD moving ONLY! I feel a praise in my spirit this morning! Glory!!!

So beloved stop accessing these doors that hinder your growth and keep you from your abundant living. No long are you to go looking over the DEAD SEA marriage that didn't work, the job that didn't hire you or expired you, the mistakes you made, His mercies are new every morning! No longer will you access the door of Shame, fear, defeat,, low self worth, wavering faith, laziness, no longer. The keys to the gates of abundance are yours. Keep it moving and grab hold of your blessings through the door that God has now opened for you.

Let us Pray:
Father God,
we submit to your will. I bind the readers feet to your will right now Lord that she will not move and that she cannot slip. Father every foul board meeting the enemy has to hinder the progress of my sister I SHUT IT DOWN in Jesus name. Every dirty eye that's monitoring her progress I send spiritual blindness in your name Lord. Father close off access to every mental and spiritual door that you deem forbidden and only highlight the doors that you clearly approve. Lord look after my sister, comfort her and prosper her in health, mind, spirit and pocket. In Jesus name... let the children of God say...AMEN!

Programming...

Greetings Sisters of Honor,

There was a time when my emotions were all over the place. I jumped to conclusions, made assumptions and was just an emotional roller-coaster wreck. A lot of friendships were displaced and destroyed due to my over-reacting response to issues. If I had the slightest disagreement with you and you sent me a message I would mis-read it and respond to you out of offense and after cooling down go back and read the message to find I was wrong, the way I had initially interpreted the message was not the way you were saying it . If I had to name this condition I would name it "EMOTIONS GONE WILD".

I would often say to myself, "I wish I was a dude" so I wouldn't have to feel the impact of every situation the way I was feeling it. After going up and down, side to side on this bumpy emotional ride I was exhausted and just about friendless. What on Earth was the PROBLEM? The problem was my programming! When we come into the world we are automatically programmed. Our parents, the people who we spend the most time around, and the situations we encounter in life shapes and makes up our programming. You have probably figured out based on what I mentioned about my past emotional programming, I had a jacked up system going on. You are right, I did.

I responded to everything out of every negative experience I encountered in life. Having abandonment issues I would do things indirectly (without knowing why) to sabotage my relationships with others. It was like I had to destroy the relationship before you left me. I always thought someone was out to get me, talking about me, jealous of me, copying off of me to sum it all up... BONDAGE!!!!!

Many of us live this way right now! God doesn't want you hurting any longer. Being in that place is lonely and desolate it's a destructive place. Satan loves when you're in that state and God hates it! God is jealous over YOU! Anything that hinders you, hurts you, stops you, scares you is enemy to him. God's desire is to reprogram your way of thinking, receiving, and being. The Bible states that we must train our children and bring them up in the way they are to go and they will not depart from those things. Perhaps, your parents or guardians like mine didn't bring you up in the way you were to go. Here's a revelation the Lord shared with me "when you accepted me as you Lord and savior my Father became you Father and the Holy Spirit you guardian. We will train you and bring you up in the way you should go". That was an amazing REVELATION to me because it really proves that God is a God of second chances!

Here are some steps to deleting the old programming and accepting the New Spirit-led programming.
1. Accept the fact that the old way of thinking is EXPIRED those beliefs and ways of doing things are no longer able to serve you.
2.Transform your way of thinking by applying the Biblical response to things.
3. Pray often... when you feel your emotions going wild read and visualize Psalms 23 I love it when he says I lead you by the still waters. Imagine the Good Shepherd leading your emotions to a place of stillness and calm.
4. Reject old programming by way of people. Don't be afraid to let them know that you are no longer in agreements with certain actions and ways of thinking.
5. Accept God's healing. Bask in his love for you. Study his love and his thoughts towards you.
6. Before responding to situations stop (reflect), Drop (to your knees in prayer), and Roll (don't let it get you down)

I am standing in agreement with you as the spirit bear witness TOTAL healing in your heart, will and emotions. God touch my sister with you finger of healing this morning. When issues arise make things go in slow motion so that she can interpret and discern properly. Father I pray your healing on every spiritual sting she has encountered now or as a child. Nurture her to be perfected in love GOD. Make her to lie down in green pastures as you minister to her soul and mend her heart. Father I thank you for your sufficient strength in her life and for you brand new mercies within her. In Jesus name may your will for perfect healing take place right now!!!! Amen!

It Hurts...

Good Morning Sisters of Honor,

I woke up this morning with something pressing in my spirit. You see, I had gotten my feelings hurt deeply by someone who was suppose to be my friend. I tossed and turned thinking about this situation, this betrayal throughout the night. I wanted my peace while my flesh wanted to react like only the flesh could react...foolishly. With all of these knots in my stomach I could barley stay focused when I ask myself "Have you spent enough time in God's presence with this situation?" the answer was No! I had not spend enough time at all. I simply mention it to the Lord in complaint and left it there. Well that's not what God nor my situations was requiring. Holy Spirit hovered over me never leaving nor forsaking me as I was in agony. It grieved him that I had not brought it to him and look to him to be my counselor/comforter or to love me back to good health.

After going to loddie, dottie, and everybody I still found NO RELIEF. Some situations nobody but God can counsel you for he is the great counselor. I finally decided that I was going to cry before the Lord with this thing and, I did. The spirit of the most high lead me to 1Corinthians 13. I immediately felt every hole in my heart being filled with love. All of the hurt, disappointment, shame, and guilt I was feeling was OVERWHELMED by LOVE. So with that being said I am free from all hurt this morning and a walking talking vessel for LOVE.

Beloved it is God's will that you are walking in peace and that you are more than ok. Daddy is hurt when you are hurt and you have not allowed him to heal that hurt. Some of you may not have peace due to various circumstances well Father wants to speak PEACE being still in your life and fill you with spiritual Vitamins of peace. Your vitamin is the WORD of GOD! Be Not Ashamed...By Guest Poster

Our Guest Poster for today is Ayana Elon. When I read her message I knew that it had to be shared with the Sisters of Honor Readers.

I am a member of a popular online community and received an email concerning the information I have in my profile. I won’t post everything here, but my profile basically contains information about me being the founder of Elon Ministries and how I like to help others. The man who sent me the email seemed very concerned about me “telling” everyone about my ministry.

I sat at my desk, looking at the computer screen, and actually thought about deleting just about all of the details in my profile. I sat wondering what if someone else thinks the same way. What if I was coming off as trying to be “Too Much” or “Too Christian-like”? Is that possible? (Smile.)

Then I began to think more clearly. Romans 10:11, KJV states that “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

There was once a time when I used to stay away from people who wanted to talk about God and what He was doing for them. I remember being snappy to several people who just wanted to talk about me giving my life to Christ at a time when I was down for just about anything. I did not want to hear it. I’m just being honest. I would be like, “Oh Lawd, not this again”.

However, God has changed my life in ways that I did not think were possible and now, I am the one who wants to share the gospel with others. I have a deep desire for the Word and want to let others know what God has delivered me from. I realize that a lot of the things I struggled with are the same things that make it possible for me to share my testimonies with people dealing with the same things.

I am not ashamed and will not let anyone break me down for showing God how much I love and appreciate Him by letting His people who are lost know that He is the way. I am in no way perfect and Lord knows I still have flaws, but at this moment, He is perfecting me. He is equipping me for my duties, training me so that I can train others.

In this game called life, you can either play God’s way or let the devil play you. I, for one, have never been the type of woman who likes to be played. So, I’m going to do this God’s way. He can use me as He sees fit…Even if it means coming off as “too Christian-like”. I am not ashamed!

Baby Steps, It's Ok!

Good Morning Sisters Of Honor,

I greet you with the love and the spirit of Christ. Grace be unto you. I remember my 1st day at the gym and seeing women who where working the stair stepping machines like it was nobody's business. I thought to myself on my first day, hmmm I am about to get it in! I am going to show all of these women up and I stepped onto the machine not accounting that intensity. One of the sisters said "Perhaps, you may want to start on the treadmill since you are new" I was a little prideful and responded "I will start right here!" Now, I took a prideful approach not to adhere the advice of the season veterans and took it upon myself to get on the machine anyway!

Not even 60 seconds on it, I begin to get dizzy, tired, and the machine was readiing my pulse and warning me that my heart rate was way to high. Although in pain I didn't want to prove the woman right, that I was not conditioned for that machine at that particular time. I ended up hitting the emergency stop button and then running to the bathroom where I mentally battered myself. I thought, those women are way bigger that I am (I know wrong way to think) so why on Earth are they able to handle that machine with way more body mass than I? (How many times have you done that dagg-on near killed yourself, your spirit, and confidence trying to walk someone else's pace?) Lawd help us!

That day the Holy Spirit ministered to me. "Armetria, respect your proccess!" I called my dad who is a Personal Trainer and ask him to train me and he broke it down. "Armetria start with the treadmill do 45min a day for two weeks! To condition your body! Although you are small you are out of shape! Once you are conditioned I will train you" Ok, the truth hurt but the truth would also save my life and prepare me for the next step in becoming healthy. After two weeks of conditioning I revisited the slippery slopes (the machine that I was not able to handle before) I still was not able to withstand it for a long period of time at first but I would attempt it everyday showing up doing what I could do with greater frequency! Now I have become a master at it and I can keep up with the other ladies (although that doesn't matter now).

All that to say, so what if you take baby steps towards your goals.... you still make it to your goal. The baby steps condition you to execute the greater intentions in your life. Like the Spirit of God said to me "Respect your proccess" I didn't understand it then but I understand it now. So it really doesn't matter to me whether I walk to loose the weight or run I am still accomplishing what I had set out to do. Taking baby steps is not a bad thing acutually if you are willing to change your thought proccess in respect to that. You t can view taking babysteps as an excuse for Daddy to hold your hand a little longer.

Your baby steps are just a conditioning period for a greater intention! Respect your proccess!

Take note, the blessing of my dad becoming my trainer wasn't unlocked until I finished my babstep (conditioning period) So, ask yourself what blessings will unlock for me if I am willing to slow down, allow God's grace to cover me while I crush my pride and go through the conditioning proccess? I could only imagine!!!

How to Experience God’s Best for This Life

How to experience God’s best in this life. So, why this life and not the next? Heaven is God’s best for each of us. So, we don’t need His best then. Yet, here on earth we want to experience God’s best for our lives in all areas: spirit, soul, body, relationships, finances, and professionally.

So many times we wander through life desiring God’s best. It seems that the desires we have grow more and more each moment, day, week, year that we are alive. Often we look at other people’s lives and wonder what they may be doing differently that perhaps we’re not doing to experience this “best” we feel we deserve to have.

The issues is not whether or nor we deserve God’s best. As His Children should not only desire His best, but we should experience it every day that we are alive.

“What man among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them—this is the Law and the Prophets.” -Matthew 7:9-12

Three ways to experience God’s best in this life: seek, surrender, and serve.

You must seek God, surrender to His will, and serve His people.

• Seek

Seek - search for something; strive for something; ask for something; head for or go towards something; attempt something.

Notice, if you will, that all the definitions for seek are moving words… search for, strive for, ask for, head for, go towards, attempt. What are you moving towards?

What are you attempting to do to make success happen for you? In order to succeed, you must seek (search for, strive for, ask for, head for, go towards) God’s direction for your life.

“But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” - Deuteronomy 4:29, NKJV

The responsibility is on YOU! You must seek God for yourself. Intercession is a wonderful, beautiful and needed tool in the Body of Christ. But there are some things you have to go to God for yourself about. YOU must seek Him!

Questions: Do you want to be blessed? Would you agree that to be blessed is to be successful?

“Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart!”
-Psalm 119:2, NKJV

You can’t seek God and His direction for your life unless your whole heart and soul is in it. If your heart is not in it, you will not commit to it.

Think about relationships. If both parties involved in a relationship (of any kind - business, marriage, etc.) are not committed, then that relationship will not last. It’s the same way with seeking God, if your heart is not fully committed to seeking Him and abiding in Him, you will not succeed in anything you set your mind to.

Be fully committed! I remember being in a one sided, long distance relationship with a gentleman once. In that relationship, it seemed that I was the person who was always committed to calling, visiting, and just working to make the relationship work.

As we were talking one day, he realized that he had pretty much neglected the relationship and began to apologize. After he shared his feelings, I told him, “People commit and make time for what’s important to them.” And in that truth, he made changes and became more committed.

Question: How committed are you to seeking and living God’s purpose for your life?

In 1 Chronicles 28:9, David told him son Solomon, “…know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you…”

“Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.”
- Ezra 8:21, NKJV

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not
forsaken those who seek You.” - Psalm 9:10, NKJV

“O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” - Psalm 63:1, NKJV

“With my soul I have desired You in the night, yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; for when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.” - Isaiah 26:9, NKJV

Here is a great promise from God…

“I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me.” - Proverbs 8:17, NKJV

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
- Jeremiah 29:13

“For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: ‘Seek Me and live;’” Amos 5:4, NKJV

God does not want you to seek Him for Him; He wants you to seek Him for YOU! So you can prosper and live the abundant life. (John 10:10)

“...but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.” -Psalm 34:10, NKJV

• Surrender

Surrender - give up or agree to the power or possession of another; relinquish possession or control over.

Before we begin to talk about surrender, I need to ask you, “Is Jesus the LORD of your life?” If He’s not your Lord then it will be difficult for you to surrender.

Lord - a person who has general authority over others. Master, commander, captain, chief, ruler, dictator, leader, director, king, head.

How do you make Jesus the LORD of your life? Here are three way to do that...

1. Loving the LORD - Luke 10:27, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind."

2. Obey the LORD - Hebrews 5:9, "… He became the source of salvation to all who obey Him."

“Surrendered people obey God’s word, even if it doesn’t make sense.” -Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life

Surrendered people are people of faith, and it takes faith to obey God. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” -Hebrews 11:6

3. Trust the LORD - Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight."

In order to fully surrender, you must lose your life in Christ and Christ alone.

"He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.-Matthew 10:39:”

Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" -Matthew 16:24-26

How do you lose your life? You lose it by relinquishing control of your life to Jesus Christ. In other words you must give Him control over spirit, mind, will, emotions, body, relationships, jobs, money, children, spouses... everything! You do that by simply praying a prayer of surrender.

Just pray...

Jesus, thank you for being my Savior and saving me from sin. Today, seek You as my LORD. Today, I relinquish control of my life to You and I ask You to be my LORD. Help me to lose my life in You today and always. Amen.

The great part about praying this prayer is that you did not lose your life... instead you’ve just found it! From this day forward, consider Jesus in all that you do. Whenever you make a decision, consult Him. Whenever life seems hard, consult Him. Whenever you’re stuck at a crossroad in life, follow wherever He leads you. When you do this, you’ll begin to experience a new dimension of Him and this life that you’ve not known before.

• Serve

Serve - work for, help, aid, attend, assist, oblige. Also supply, dish up, serve up, hand out, hand round, give out, dole out, provide, distribute.

You are to serve God and serve His people. In order words you are to “work for, help, aid, attend to, assist and oblige” God by “supplying, serving up, giving out” whatever He tells you to His people.

Did you know that God in all of His sovereignty has chosen to operate in the earth through man/people? Yes, that’s right! We are His body in the earth – His heart, His hands, He feet, His arms, etc. Therefore, it’s up to us to serve God and to also serve His people.

“Worship the LORD your God, fear him, obey his commands, listen to what he says, serve him, and be loyal to him.” -Deuteronomy 13:4

“If you faithfully obey the commands that I'm giving you today, love the LORD your God, and serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, I will send rain on your land at the right time, both in the fall and in the spring. Then you will gather your own grain, new wine, and olive oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your animals, and you will be able to eat all you want.” -Deuteronomy 11:13-15

I don’t know about you, but that sounds like God’s best to me!

Good Morning Sisters Of Honor,

What a lovely day that God is springing forth to once again allow us to bask in his glory. This morning's message hits home for me, as I am a believer that I can never take you further than I've been. Let's take a journey into the battlefield of our minds. Have you ever just woke up and thoughts begin to race in your head? The constant reminders of the hurt, pain, shame, irritations, betrayal, self pity, the guilt, bitterness, ragging emotions, and the failure of yesterday and we all know the list is never-ending. We thought once we laid down for the night we would most certainly awaken refreshed without worries and residues of yesterday issues. Have you tried praying and it seems as if you are spiritually ADHD (prayer is all over the place and you cannot seem to tap into the source without interruption or fail) or you are simply paralyzed due to the thoughts that are flying uncontrollably in your mind? I understand, because that was me.

I woke one morning with my train totally off track thinking about the plagues that seem to own the deed on my mind. I wanted to pray and couldn't seem to find the words when Father was able to read me heart and he simply responded "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Hear that in your minds and spirits this morning "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" remember every knee bows before the Lord our God so... depression, oppression, worry, anxiety and confusion has to obey God's command to CEASE and be SILENT in your life. Once the message has been delivered to every signal in your mind then you must guard your mind, your peace and your stability. You do this by following these simply steps of training your thoughts to stay on track. You do it by... Taking ACTION!!!

A= Acknowledge any emotions that presents themselves (if you are angry, upset, furious ect. Acknowledge that. Don't be legalistic with yourself and not allow yourself to feel what you are feeling this will plague your mind later. In other words if you are upset say that "I am upset, but God..."

C= Consider the cause, force and source! Where on earth are these emotions or thoughts coming from?

T= Thank God (Assuming a position of worship and praise confuses the enemy. Remember whenever a war broke out in the Bible notice the musicians went first. There is a sound that reclaims your peace that same sound of praise and worship helped sooth Saul when demons harassed him. He called on David to play the Harp and the demons would leave. Well expect those forces that have caused your mental battles to LEAVE also! So, thank God for providing you with an release.

I= Identify the Biblical Response! You need the word, your (Sword) to identify the response needed to apply to your situation. A good source is the Fruit of The Spirit love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness,faith, meekness, and self control(the key to keeping your thoughts and actions on track). Which one of these fruit need be applied to your situation.

O= Obey the BIBLICAL response. It's important that once you find the right way to respond that no matter how you feel you OBEY it.

N= Nurture that response! Whatever you feed will grow. So feed your mind and spirit with the word daily.

Today's Prayer:

Lord I thank you for causing all things to become silent in my life so that I may connect to you the source for a response to my situation. I turn in all of my ways for your witty inventions and guidance in my life. I recognize my need for you and my situation is depending on me to trust and obey you. Today Lord I release myself to walk in peace that surpasses all understanding. Because I trust you I have shut down the tracks that allow my thoughts to race. In Jesus name I submit my prayer, my mind and my life. I will have an awesome day, on purpose!

Check Engine Light

I wanted to share with you a post my sister-friend posted on facebook. I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Morning Beloved,

If you have been driving a while and have run into some car troubles your vehicle has probably presented you with the "Check Engine" light! Everyone knows when the that light comes on you don't go and see no penny annie mechanic you probably have to take it into the dealership. That's the price of luxury!

Just recently the check engine light had come on in my truck and my husband and I sent it to our trusty mechanic. Unfortunately, he couldn't help us with this type of problem because he doesn't have the tools that Cadillac has to identify what cliches were in our system. Although we dread going to the dealership b/c they are going to hit our heads financially this is what's required when you choose luxury.

You beloved are luxury! You are the workmanship of his hands, HIS Hands!!!! Think on that and then start shouting! With you being such an awesome work anybody can't work on you! Sometimes spiritually our "CHECK ENGINE" lights are on and are indicators that we need to seek his face and enter into his presence for a while. I remember finding my peace interrupted, or I might start fussing, become easily irritated, or get to backsliding a bit, or maybe even depressed... these are all "Check Engine" lights blinking in the spirit realm telling you come on to the manufacture to get diagnostic and the problem resolved!

In the spirit the Engine represents our hearts. Our heart is the thing that runs our thoughts, our words, and determines out actions. The Bible says this about the heart (Our Engines)Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). and it also states in Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart more than anything else, because the source of your life flows from it. Our Engines are important and High Maintenance. When we take our hearts to God he places in on the DIAGNOSTIC machine (PLACES UNDER THE WORD) to X-Ray and see where the vehicle is not meeting it's intended standards. Once the diagnostic is made according to the word The manufacture is able to tell you what condition is causing problem indicating lights to flash... whether it's jealousy,laziness,depression, oppression, the list goes on and on.

In his presence lies the fix all for your check engine problem! What areas has their been an indicator that you need more than just a tune up? God is waiting and there is no line to wait in b/c he does all things well in decency and in order. Now you may find it to be a bit pricey because the price you will pay is with your time and self denial. However if you are willing to pay, you can send the light packing and you will be on the road again in no time. Don't ride around on a faulty system when the lover of your soul is willing to fix it ensuring you a smooth and safe ride through this life!!!

During our lifetime, we all will experience many storms. Although some will be worse than others, either way you can expect a storm to come your way at some point in your life. It is up to us individually to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in knowing when to respond and what if any action should be taking place.

As humans, our first initial reaction is typically to defend ourselves. Sometimes we may even think we have to reciprocate some form of retaliation. Time to get real! We Must get to a point and BE STILL and LET GOD FIGHT OUR BATTLES.

Be still, and know that I am God; Psalm 46:10(NKJ)

Please know that being silent DOES NOT show a sign of weakness; instead, it shows a sign of BEING SMART!! God can and will fight our battles far more greater and wiser than we ever could. Take pleasure in knowing you don't have to lift a finger or say a word but THANK YOU GOD for shielding me. There is nothing or no one that could possibly give us the protection like Our Lord and Savior.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV)

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19 (NKJ)

I know all too well what it feels like to want to respond to lies and rumors but in Every Single Instance God would not allow me speak. Yes, it was difficult (Extremely!!!) because I wanted to tell my side. I wanted to set the record straight but the fact remained I had to be obedient. God has and always will work things out according to His time.

Don't let the devil steal your Joy!

Giving all honor to Our Lord and Savior. There will be some new things springing forth throughout this ministry. I am so excited. God is Good!!! AND Worthy to be Praised!!!! Sometimes we have to sit back, be quiet and be still in order to hear and receive our instructions. We can't get in the habit of doing things because it is what everyone else is doing. My Lord!! (Saving that for another day.)

Today my daughter and I watched a movie "Letters to God". I must say that if you have not seen it, you should. It is very emotional and gives one inspiration, hope and faith.

Letters to God is based on an 8 year old boy named Tyler who is suffering from cancer. Tyler writes a letter to God on a daily basis. He shows strength and faith when those around him seem to be doubting God. After viewing this movie, you will find yourself examining the size of your faith and maybe even wonder if you could exemplify as much courage as Tyler.

I Give You My Heart

Are you a true follower of Jesus? Okay, let's be honest. Do you follow him daily or a day or two out of the week? Some may even follow Him when you feel it is convenient for you? Stop and think! How would you feel if He only thought about you occasionally? Now, I know for me that doesn't feel too good.

Are you excited about your faith more than you are about other things in your life? You should be passionate and unashamed of your faith. I know for me personally, I have lost friends/followers because I speak of the goodness of God. I will never stop praising God our Father in secret and publicly. When I think of His goodness and all that He has done (and still doing for me), I can't help but to sing His praises!!! My faith in Him is my Top Priority.

And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also]. Luke 9:23 (Amp)

So, I ask you again. Are you a True Follower? Are you excited about your Faith?

It's always nice to see what God in doing in someone else's life. I must say that God is really blessing her with her writing abilities. It was nice to hear Kennisha state that her writings will always be biblically based and spiritually influenced. Thanks for not compromising. Credit Report : Inspiration

I got this from of a friend and wanted to share....

If my life was a credit report and I was trying to obtain salvation, based
on my score I wouldn't get it.

My history shows that I've been delinquent in praise, past due in prayer,
my worship has been in collections and I've missed a few payments (tithes)
or only paid half (you know how we put $20 in the basket and feel like
we've done God a favor).

Not to mention that my debt (sin) to income (blessings) ratio is too high.

BUT I thank God that I was able to file bankruptcy (repentance) and it
cleared me of all of my debt (sin).
Now I have a co-signer (Jesus) whose score is FLAWLESS... Not one blemish
(sin) on his report.

So now.... I QUALIFY for EVERYTHING! Most importantly I've inherited
> eternal life and I didn't have to put one penny down.

All of my closing costs were covered when Jesus laid down His life for me
!!!! I hear that my future home has all of the upgrades too.

Hardwood floors? Please!! I'll be walking on gold! : - )

Spending Time

I know I have been away from the blog for a minute, but I have been diligently seeking Our Father. Sometimes you have to put some things aside and focus more on what He is telling you to do. You also have to be willing to sit still and listen. I know that can be hard to do but if you want a clear understanding, you have to do what is required of you.

Spending quality time in the Word is SO Important in your growth as a Christian. Set aside a specific time daily when you know that you can spend some one on one time with the Lord.

Celebrating Our Wedding Anniversary Today

It is truly a blessing to be celebrating our Wedding Anniversary today. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful and supportive husband. I can say he is a great father and husband. Now, that does not mean that he never does anything to get under my skin but we have learned what is really important to us. Our marriage is like others we both have our faults but we have learned to work through them. NO marriage is perfect. Although, some would have you to believe that. NOT TRUE!!!

I am thankful he loves me even though I fall short.

There will be more on marriage at a later date.

Have you went to the throne on behalf of someone else today? I know we all have something we would like for the Father do on our behalf, but the blessings come when we think of others. Show some compassion and love for someone else today.

Go to the father and pray for someone else. Stand in the gap for someone today. They may not have the courage or wisdom to call on the Father or maybe they just need someone to stand in agreement with them. Why can't that someone be you?
